Head of the Trade Policy Unit, UK

Paul heads the UK Government’s Trade Policy Unit that leads the UK’s approach to trade policy that seeks to maximise the gains for the UK and developing countries. Previously, Paul was the head of the Department for International Development’s (DFID) UN and Commonwealth Department following several years as Deputy Head of DFID’s largest bilateral programme in Ethiopia. Prior to that Paul delivered economic and trade programmes for DFID in a range of countries including Ghana, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Cambodia, Indonesia and Vietnam.
